Families of Faith

 FAMILIES OF FAITH

through wisdom a house is built,
and by understanding it is established.
(Proverbs 24:3)

The family is the most important institution in the world.  It was God's idea in the first place.  It was not the invention of sociologists or economists or government bureaucrats who decided it would make society operate more smoothly.  Families existed before cities and governments, before written language, nations, temples, and churches.

In the home, character and integrity are formed, values are made clear, and goals are set.  These last a lifetime.  And if they aren't formed correctly, that too, will result in patterns -- bad patterns -- that last a lifetime, if God doesn't intervene.
Today, Satan is attacking the family as never before.  But what are our defenses against such attacks ?
As always, our best defense is the Word of God.
Read the Bible together as a family.  Have family devotions.  Pray for one another daily by name.  Be on guard against the forces that tend to pull families apart today.  And most of all, commit your marriage to Christ, and make Him the center of your home -- and your life.

HELP ME Foreclosure

HELP ME Foreclosure

Hope For Homeowners

Maybe you personally are not facing Foreclosure, but your landlord is.  Renters are affected by this crisis, too.  Many people are facing eviction - even though they pay their rent - because the landlord is dealing with Foreclosure proceedings.  If you are in this situation, legal aid is available to you as well.  The Home Ownership Preservation Foundation has a national hotline dedicated to helping individuals facing Foreclosure. You can call 1-888-995-HOPE (4673).
If you are facing Foreclosure, give hope a chance.  Visit www.995hope.org
The American Bar Association has foreclosure resources also; Foreclosure tax tips at www.abanet.org/tax/taxtips44/ForeclosureTaxTips1.pdf and answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) about Foreclosure are found using the following link:  www.abanet.org/rapf/public/realestate/foreclosure.html
Foreclosure's are regulated by state laws, but there are national organizations that offer assistance, advice and guidance:

HUD - General Foreclosure Information
www.hud.gov/foreclosure/index.cfm

To search for local legal resources in your state to help you with foreclosure or other matters, use www.abanet.org/legalservices/findlegalhelp/home.cfm

These are some of the things you can take advantage of in the event that you are facing a foreclosure.  One tactic you can use to gain some time is to ask for them to produce the note.  In the event that they do not have it with them, which they seldom do, this will allow you some time.  Hope this article will help you, or someone you may know that are facing foreclosure.

Be Aware About Microwaving Water

Be Aware about Microwaving Water!

A 26-year old man decided to have a cup of coffee. He took a cup of water and put it in the microwave to heat it up (something that he had done numerous times before). I am not sure how long he set the timer for, but he wanted to bring the water to a boil. When the timer shut the oven off, he removed the cup from the oven. As he looked into the cup, he noted that the water was not boiling, but suddenly the water in the cup 'blew up' into his face. The cup remained intact until he threw it out of his hand, but all the water had flown out into his face due to the build-up of energy . His whole face is blistered and he has 1st and 2nd degree burns to his face which may leave scarring.

He also may have lost partial sight in his left eye. While at the hospital, the doctor who was attending to him stated that this is a fairly common occurrence and water (alone) should never be heated in a microwave oven. If water is heated in this manner, something should be placed in the cup to diffuse the energy such as a wooden stir stick, tea bag, etc, (nothing metal).

General Electric's Response:

Thanks for contacting us; I will be happy to assist you. The e-mail that you received is correct. Microwaved water and other liquids do not always bubble when they reach boiling point. They can actually get super-heated and not bubble at all. The super-heated liquid will bubble up out of the cup when it is moved or when something like a spoon or tea bag is put into it.

To prevent this from happening and causing injury, do not heat any liquid for more than two minutes per cup. After heating, let the cup stand in the microwave for thirty seconds before moving it or adding anything into it.

Here is what a local high school science teacher had to say on the matter: 'Thanks for the microwave warning. I have seen this happen before. It is caused by a phenomenon known as super heating. It can occur any time water is heated and will particularly occur if the vessel that the water is heated in is new, or when heating a small amount of water (less than half a cup).

What happens is that the water heats faster than the vapor bubbles can form. If the cup is very new, then it is unlikely to have small surface scratches inside it that provide a place for the bubbles to form. As the bubbles cannot form and release some of the heat that has built up, the liquid does not boil, and the liquid continues to heat up well past its boiling point.

What then usually happens is that the liquid is bumped or jarred, which is just enough of a shock to cause the bubbles to rapidly form and expel the hot liquid. The rapid formation of bubbles is also why a carbonated beverage spews when opened after having been shaken.

If you pass this on, you could very well save someone from a lot of pain..

This idea is intended to be "One Big" network of "COMMERCIAL ADVERTISEMENT", that ties in with many other networks; which in turn serves as an ideal site for a " COMMERCIAL of COMMERCIALS" advertising mainstream.  Browse from A to Z in this world all day, any time.  My main idea for this website, is to become the yellow pages of advertising news.  No more waiting to see that missed or favorite commerical, or have to find that site that has to do with a favorite item being advertised. Each piece of advertisement will be inner-linked !
Will invite anyone who has some insite into this idea.  Please,if you would like to be a part of this in some way, then get ahold of me through comments, or post to my wall; Thank You !!
My major purpose originally intended for this idea, is to take advertising commercials to the next level.  The concept of this idea at first, may seem like a bad thing to it's home industry; at the same time it is already a catching thought to the consumer. Industries will find in time, that the whole concept of this idea will save companies loads of AD dollars; and could possibly set a new standard in advertisement.  Here's to the new Home Shopping network of commercials !

A Joyful Life

Here is a nice page that I found from Billy Graham's Book on "Hope For Each Day".  It's a piece that I really think hits home in a Christian's Life.
When our hearts are surrendered totally to the will of God, then we delight in seeing Him use us in any way He pleases.  Our plans and desires begin to agree with His, and we accept His direction in our lives. Our sense of joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment in life increases, no matter what the circumstances, if we are in the center of God's will.
The Christian life is a joyful life. Christianity was never meant to be something to make people miserable. The ministry of Jesus Christ was one of joy. The Bible teaches that a life of inward peace and outward victory is a Christian’s birthright.
"What a witness to the world Christians would be," wrote Amy Carmichael, "if only they were more evidently very happy people." Joy is one of the marks of a true believer. Will others see the joy of Christ in your life today?

TRUE HUMILITY

TRUE HUMILITY

True Humility

Humility is not something that can be directly pursued.  It is righteous, but not self-righteous.
It is confidence, but not not self-confidence.  It is sufficient, but not self-sufficiency.
It is learned in the practice of other virtues.  Be kind and compassionate and humility will knock at
your door.  Be grateful and unassuming and humility will walk in your shadow.  Be loving
and merciful and humility will live within.

True Humility

Potent Possibility

Humility risks humiliation.  Peter said unto Christ, 'Thou shalt never wash my feet' (John 13:8).
Peter was proud.  Pride neither served nor will it be served.  Simon obviously did not seek the towel
for himself.  Now he would prevent even the Lord from doing what he had shunned to do.  There
are Christians and even some church leaders who neither serve, and would seemingly prevent all
others from serving.  Humility risks itself.  It is prepared to  'spend and be spent'  for others.  Jesus
said, 'If I wash thee not, thou has no part with me'.  See how quickly Peter's pride turns to self-
forgetfulness.  Peter saith unto him,  'Lord, not by feet only, but my hands and my head'.  True
humility is ready to risk all, and not only purifies feet to carry the message, but the hands to serve,
and the heart to fully trust.  The lack of humility is the greatest barrier to the uncommitted heart.

True Humility

How often do we say, 'Oh, I would really like to be hospitable, and have them home for dinner,
but you know our furniture is old, and the living-room is small'.  This person is a two time loser.
They are proud, yet have nothing to be proud of.  Humility would express itself in love and not new
furniture.  Largeness of the heart is  'room enough'  for strangers to dwell.  Another says,  'Oh, I
could never teach a class.   Why, I would just as soon face a firing squad'.  Pride has always been a
great  'self-fester'.  Take that same heart and fill it with a genuine love for truth, and self-eclipsing
humilty, and there would be no way of keeping the heart from expressing the grace of God.

True Humility

                                     Wrap it up !

Thank You !   Have a Great Day
