CHINESE GANGSTER
Humanitarianism was replaced by Greed, Sadism, and total Ruthlessness.
By 1911, when the Manchus were at last over thrown, the Triads were not only the most powerful societies in China, they were an accepted way of life.
Even the Westernized Dr. Sun Yat Sen, who proclaimed the modern Republic of China, had been a member, a Red Pole enforcement officer in the Di Hong Cha Triad.
After Sun Yat Sen came General Chiang Kai Shek, who, in his long struggle against Mao Tse Tung and communism, relied heavenly on the Triads for support, money, power, and influence. It was the Green Pang Triad society that became the enforcement arm of Chiang Kai Shek's army could not do officially, such as massacring members of communist led labor unions, or entire villages whose people disagreed with Chiand Kai Shek's policies, which were every bit as brutal as Mao Tse Tungs.
During those days, Ching Kai Kuo was a Captain in the murderous KMT and a cuthroat assassin who with fifty other Triads, killed thousands of men and women - communists and non communists - in Shanghai. The business of life had been far more simple then. Death had been more direct, and the Green Pang Traid Society had numbered 1,200,000. Now these were less than 10,000. Many members escaped to Taiwan after Mao Tse Tung had beaten General Chiang Kai Shek and his Nationalists. Most, however, had been trapped in China. The communists made short work of them...
There were no trials. Known Triad members were rounded up either shot or beheaded.
In hundreds of villages, Triad thugs and gunmen were burned alive, as a warning to the populace. Ching Kai Kuo and sixty men of his Blood - Crawl Unit managed to escape to Taiwan; an island of no opportunity, not with the Nationalists in firm control.
Just as theology is the useless art of studying accepted superstitions, caution is the identical twin brother of survival. This rule of discretion was reinforced when the Triads began operations in the United States, although the various leaders of the Triads, the Shan Chus, realized that Americans entertained an illusion about the Chinese in general and the Triads in particular. Most Americans think of "the Chinese" as coming from all over China. The truth is that ninety-nine percent of all Chinese in America come from only two of China's provinces, Fukien and Kwangtung in the southeast of the vast nation of 3,657,765 square miles. The reason is these are the two major coastal provinces of South China in which lie the major immigrant ports of Amoy, Kiungchow, Swatow, and Hong Kong.
The original goals of the Chinese Triads and the Sicilian mafia were identical. Just as the mafia was founded in 1860 by Giuseppe Mazzini in Palermo Sicily as a guerrilla force to drive out the invading French and unite with mainland Italy, so the early Triads came into existence in Fukien province during the later part of the seventeenth century. Triads (like the mafia) also had but a single goal: To put a halt to the alien oppression of the Manchus, the savage tribesman who swept across the great wall of China, and in 1644 defeated the ruling Ming Emperor and established the Ching Dynasty. Evil often flourishes simultaneously in two different places. Just as the mafia grew into a ruthless and secret criminal society. So did the Triads become organizations of blood oaths and violence against anyone who might oppose their ambitions.
Hope You Enjoyed Some History, ThanX !
